The Design Process
- We meet together either through phone, email or in person. There is no cost for this.
- We go over what you need in a site, the function as well as the look you want.
- If you don't have a domain name or hosting company, I can help you find one.
- If you do have a domain name and/or hosting company, I will need the passwords to access it before I am able to upload your site.
- It is helpful to have copies of your logo, your colors, your stationery, etc., if you have them. Many times the look of the site will be determined by the logo.
- It is also helpful if you have looked at to sites you like and don't like and provide me links.
- I'll need to know the various pages (menu items) that you will need. I can help you determine this if you want.
- I will give you a quote. Take a look at my rate page to see what this might be.
(On most sites I design, the total cost comes out to between $300 and $450.) - I will send you a contract expressing what we have discussed in person.
- After receiving your signed contract, I will mock up 2-3 designs based on what we have discussed.
- One third of the cost will be paid up front at the time of signing the contract, one third will be paid when the design is finalized and the last third when the site is complete.
- The design mockups can be altered until we capture the look you want.
- After you approve a design, I will make it up into a web site template.
- After the template is done, any changes to the design will be at an extra cost.
- Then I will begin adding content to each page (which is provided by you).
- Images can be provided by you or we can purchase them from a stock photo site for a low cost. I normally use IStockPhotos.
- The process normally take about a month, but if you are slow at getting me content, it will be longer.
